Holy Ground

A friendly smile
To show we care,
A helping hand…
And God is there!

It’s holy ground
Each time we share.
God’s in our midst.
Yes, God is there!

Summer Camp

by Lois Greene Stone

Lots of tearful mothers.
On my own
I will try
Being kind to others.

Would I give up my special toys
To help someone in need?
The Bible speaks of sacrifice
So, yes I would, indeed!

Psalm of Praise

by Caitlin Gladen

Oh God of all creation
You’ve made the most wonderful sights
From the beautiful sunsets in the morning
To the sound of waves in the night

The cool breeze by the shore
The moist summer mornings
The earth when it rains
We love all you do.

The Fiery Bush

Moses saw a bush on fire!
It wasn’t church; there was no choir.
But God was there, all around.
He said, “This ground is holy ground.”

So Moses then took off his shoes
To show respect and hear God’s news.
God told him what he was to be—
The one to lead his people free!

growing through troubles,
grasping at a strength within,
never alone now,

Where Prayer Ends

Where does prayer end?
When is it done?
It's when you've asked God
to help everyone.

Your family and friends,
your neighbor next door,
your teachers and coach,
our soldiers at war.

Pray for the sick,
the lonely, the poor,
the weak and afraid,
but wait, there's one more.

Before the Amen,
before you are through,
pray for yourself.
You need prayers too!

Saint Joseph

A smile on his face,
He worked to get the job done.
Always following God,
by leading His own Son.

Joseph was his name,
and carpentry was his trade.
His will and God's, the same;
working as he prayed.

Jesus and Mary followed,
because they knew it right.
Joseph, too, did know
to lead them day and night.
